Today on YouTube I stumbled across Nearest Tube. It's basically an Augmented Reality application for the iPhone 3GS. It's pretty damn cool I'd say.

I've been using MacPorts for quite some time now. And ever since then I noticed that MacPorts keeps old ports floating around. Even a

port -u upgrade

doesn't help because as of 1.7.1 it only uninstalls the previous active port but not the remaining inactive ports. In order to get rid of all inactive ports you have to perfrom a

port uninstall inactive

and voilà, all your inactive ports are gone :)

In the upcoming version 1.8

port -u uninstall

will behave as expected according to this changeset.

Gerade lese ich auf MacTechNews, dass es eine neue Beta-Version des Skype-Clients für MacOS X gibt. Leider hatte ich noch keine Gelegenheit, den Client auszuprobieren. Aber die Screenshots sehen auf jeden Fall schonmal sehr vielversprechend aus. Insbesondere die Kontakt-Liste wurde aufgeräumt und übersichtlicher gestalltet. Sehr fein! Ich wünschte mir nur, das Userinterface des Windows-Clients wäre ebenso aufgeräumt. Aber man kann eben nicht alles haben ;-)

Durch Zufall bin ich über das Weblog von Phill Ryu gestolpert. Wer einen Mac hat und Englisch versteht, der sollte sich diese Seite mal anschauen. Ich finde sie auf jeden Fall lesenswert.
